Following the advice of the UK Government, Education Library Service is now closed and all deliveries and collections will cease until further notice. There will be staff working remotely who will be able pick up emails and enquiries from schools. If you need to get in touch please email educationlibraryservice@cheshiresharedservices.gov.uk and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

Please check out the Resources and Useful Links page for information to support parents whose children are at home. You can also follow us on Twitter @CheshireELS and Facebook for more ideas and useful information.

Keep an eye on our latest news for further updates. We hope to resume a full service as soon as possible.

Free children's ebooks from Cheshire West and Cheshire Libraries

Cheshire West and Chester Public Libraries offer a free ebook service, including books for childrens and teens. Titles on offer include a wide range from Julia Donaldson’s picture books to the Wimpy Kid to older titles like Noughts and Crosses by Malorie Blackman.

Cheshire West and Chester have added thousands of pounds of the books of the most popular authors as well as purchasing a special “Shelf Help” collection. Joining the library is free and can be done online.  Loans will automatically return after three weeks and so there is no chance of fines. You can even suggest new book titles for us to purchase.

Take look at the ebook collection to see what's available.
