Cheshire Schools' Book Award winners

The winners of the Cheshire Schools' Book Award 2019 were announced at a bustling ceremony held at Winsford Academy. Nominees Tom Palmer, Matt Killeen and Stewart Foster were in attendance to discuss their books and answer questions from the audience.

20 secondary schools across Cheshire East, Cheshire West, Warrington and Halton selected the winning books from a shortlist of titles. The winner of the younger age category was Tom Palmer with his book Armistice Runner. Lisa Thompson, author of The Light Jar, and Stewart Foster, author of All the Things That Could Go Wrong, were joint runner-ups. The older age category was won by Eve of Man, written by Giovanna and Tom Fletcher. Matt Killeen came second with his novel Orphan Monster Spy.
