ELS supports education by providing quality resources to enrich learning and promote reading for pleasure. As part of this offer to schools, we're pleased to offer all of the following services as part of your school's subscription:
READING CHAMPIONS
KS2 Book Award programme to inspire and empower the avid readers in your school to make them leaders of reading.
READING LEADS CPD PROGRAMME
Key to help develop knowledge, confidence and enthusiasm in getting your whole school excited about books and reading. From discovering new authors to how to deliver Bedtime Booktalk.
AWESOME AUTHORS
Author boxes to tempt and inspire even the most reluctant reader. The boxes will get your pupils reading and talking about books.
BOOK BUS VISIT
Our fantastic new 100% Electric Book Bus adorned with aliens, dinosaurs and witches and lots of children happily reading. A Book Bus visit is designed to delight and inspire your readers. Our staff will be happy to share stories with your EYFS/KS1 pupils.
PUPIL LIBRARIAN TRAINING
Fun, interactive training sessions to give pupils the tools and knowledge needed to help run your school library spaces. Pupils also get a behind the scenes tour of ELS and chance to choose books to take back to school.
ADVICE & CONSULTANCY
Supporting you to prioritise reading in your schools depending on your needs. We can offer advice and support with any aspect of your school library or reading corner.
BOOK & RESOUCES
Curriculum topic loans including books, guided reading, objects & artefacts
Reading For Pleasure stock for your library & book corners @ 2 per pupil
Subscription costs
The cost of for primary schools is £13 per pupil plus an administrative charge of £300. We can also offer a service for schools outside Cheshire, please email educationlibraryservice@cheshiresharedservices.gov.uk for further information.
