In September 2025, ELS is launching a brand new book award especially for KS2 pupils. The Reading Champions KS2 Book Award is designed to inspire and empower readers in your school. 

ELS librarians have selected six books, that we think your year 5 and 6 pupils will love to read. Once they've have read the books, they'll get to choose which one they think deserves to win. It will culminate with a special award ceremony in the summer term, when the winning book will be announced. 

Each participating school will receive: 

• Loan of the six shortlisted titles
• Online author sessions with each of the shortlisted authors
• Display material to use in school, including posters and bookmarks
• The opportunity for pupils to enter a writing competition
• Activity packs for each of the shortlisted titles
