The Department for Education’s Reading Framework (July 2021) states that:
‘Pupils should read often, in English lessons and across the curriculum: to learn from their reading, to read for pleasure and for specific purposes…’.
Subscribing to our service provides a wealth of high-quality resources which support both reading for pleasure and for information. Resources can be ordered easily online and are delivered to you throughout the term, saving your staff time and ensuring the selection of resources in school can be constantly refreshed with new and diverse titles.
If your school doesn't currently subscribe to the service but you'd like to give it a try, we're currently offering a special half year offer to all primary schools in Cheshire. For half the price of a standard annual subscription, your school can borrow up to 900 curriculum resources for the rest of the academic year including books, objects and artefacts, story sacks, DVDs and talking books.
As well as curriculum resources, your school can also borrow one book per pupil to boost reading for pleasure. These books are usually fiction – including brand new titles, popular series, dyslexia-friendly fiction and graphic novels carefully chosen to help get children and young people hooked on books – and can be kept in your school library, classroom reading corners or sent home with pupils.
